Mrs. Amanda Pruitt, Principal

I am honored and humbled to serve as the principal of West Wilkes High School, where I am surrounded by great students, caring adults and supportive community members.  I have worked as a teacher and school administrator in three high schools during my 14 year tenure in education.  West Wilkes High School is a great place to serve.  Students and staff members are dedicated to success inside the school building and in the community.

A little about myself, I am happily married to my husband Timothy, of almost 18 years.  We have three children—a son, Corban, a daughter, Caydence and we are currently in the process of adopting our third child, Justin.  We enjoy spending time together as a family and are excited to continue our journey alongside the West Wilkes family as well.

I am grateful for the opportunity to see our students reach new heights and succeed every day.  We want to share these successes with the West Wilkes community.  Please follow us on Twitter (@WestWilkesHS), like us on Facebook (West Wilkes High School) and check our website often for upcoming events and important information.  Thank you for your continued support of the Blackhawks.  I am excited about all we will accomplish together in the year ahead by working hard and staying focused on our goals.

Jennifer Sorel, Assistant Principal

It is very exciting to become a new member of the West Wilkes High School family and to join the hard at work faculty, staff, and students in continuing its established academic tradition of excellence. I humbly bring a rich experience gained by teaching English in classrooms for 19 years at various institutions in Florida and North Carolina to student populations with varied backgrounds and interest in the subject. I further complement my extensive experience in the classroom with my formal education training at UNC Asheville and Appalachian State University.

I am grateful for this wonderful opportunity to continue my journey in education, this time as an assistant principal, and for the warm welcoming, I have received by the current administration. It is my conviction that together, we can ensure that every student in this great family seize all available educational opportunities and secure a deserving success in their future formal learning pursuits.
