Atrium Health Outreach Athletic Training
Our athletic training program provides on-site, certified, licensed athletic trainers to our
partnered high schools and other athletic organizations. Our athletic trainers are onsite during all home games and matches; including daily team practices. We provide coverage to over 30 public and private schools across the Triad.

We are experienced working with athletes from a wide range of sports, including football,
soccer, lacrosse, wrestling, basketball, baseball, softball, track and field, tennis, golf, swimming, volleyball, cross country and field hockey.

We are part of the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Orthopaedics and Sports
Medicine team. We strive to provide student athletes with access to an evidence based
healthcare collaboration from acute recognition, immediate management and stabilization,
referral by certified athletic training staff to appropriate medical providers, access to formal
rehabilitation with expert physical therapy staff along with implementation of most current return to play guidelines to ensure optimal return to sports participation with the lowest relative risk for re-injury. In addition, this program will offer educational resources and preventive programs individualized to specific sport to decrease the student athletes’ risk for future injuries.
