We have a team of educators dedicated to caring for students and going above and beyond to help them be successful. West Wilkes High School is a great place to be.
Once a Blackhawk, always a Blackhawk!
A little about me--I am a graduate of North Wilkes High School and Appalachian State University. I attended ASU, received my undergraduate degree in Secondary Mathematics Education, and taught high school math in Yadkin County Schools for 10 years. I returned to ASU for my Master's degree in School Administration. I served as an Assistant Principal at Wilkes Early College High School (2014-2015) before moving to West Wilkes High School to be the Assistant Principal for three years (2015-2018). I was named Principal in July of 2018 and am grateful to be leading the Blackhawks of West Wilkes.

I am originally from Wisconsin, but moved to Wilkes County in high school. After high school I attended Appalachian State University and earned my degree in History, Secondary Education. I began teaching and coaching in Wilkes County but have experience in Caldwell and Alexander Counties as well. I spent 11 years in the classroom teaching History and Earth Science before obtaining my School Administration degree in 2022 also from Appalachian State. I am also currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Appalachian State. I have a wife, Lacy, who is a school nurse and five children, Isaac, Harper, Sophie, Tucker, and PK. I enjoy cooking, hiking, concerts, and App State Football games!
My professional focus is on making West Wilkes High School a better place to teach and learn. I enjoy finding solutions to obstacles and removing barriers for students/families and teachers. I am very proud to be a Blackhawk and enjoy representing and helping our community.
